2016 Tour de France – Stage 16
Moirans-en-Montagne – Berne---209 km
A trip into Switzerland on the eve of the race’s second rest day proved to be the highlight of Monday’s stage of the Tour de France.
Peter Sagan (Tinkoff) won for the third time this tour in a photo finish with Alexander Kristoff (Katusha). Brent’s teammate, Greg Van Avermaet, was best for the BMC Racing Team in 10th.
With five stages to go after Tuesday’s day off, the BMC Racing Team has two riders in the top 10: Richie Porte (7th, 4:27 back) and Tejay van Garderen (8th, 4:47 behind).
Brent remains one of five Americans still in the race and aims to finish his fourth career Tour de France Sunday in Paris following four challenging mountain stages, beginning Wednesday.
