2016 Tour de France – Stage 6

Arpajon-sur-Cère – Montauban---190.5 km

For the third time in his four Tour de France appearances, Brent Bookwalter found himself helping defend the lead of the Tour de France.

Thursday, it was Greg Van Avermaet who was wearing the leader’s yellow jersey. With a more than five-minute lead in hand, Brent and seven other teammates kept a two-man breakaway in check for 190.5 kilometers. They also made sure Van Avermaet safely crossed the line in 28th place, four seconds back of Stage 6 winner Mark Cavendish (Dimension Data).

In Brent’s other two Tour de France participations, he helped Cadel Evans win the race in 2011 and defend the lead for one day in 2010.
